January 24 is the birthday of black historian, writer, and activist who researched and raised awareness of the great contributions of black people worldwide, especially Afro-Latin Americans and African-Americans. Arturo was born in the town of Santurce, Puerto Rico (now part of the capital San Juan). While in grade school, one of his teachers claimed that blacks have no history, heroes, or accomplishments. Inspired to prove the teacher wrong, Arturo Schomburg determined that he would find and document the accomplishments of continental Africans and those throughout the diaspora, and became an important intellectual figure in the Harlem Renaissance.

Are You Teaching Your Children?

What do you think about this fam?  Before you listen to any of the "scholars" or "leaders" on YouTube and other platforms that are out here kicking knowledge, especially in the conscious community you should qualify that person to see if they are practicing what they preach.

To everyone out here that is always sharing stuff and talking big online, to all my internet juggernauts, how are your children doing? Do you even have custody of your seeds? Are you leading by example? Are you actively teaching them this stuff you claim to understand? Do they look up to you or are your children growing up idolizing rappers and other celebrities?

I'm not naming any names or taking shots at any person in particular but I think it's crazy that you have people out here teaching and advising people on how to raise their families that do not even have their own households intact.  For example, there are guys out here telling people to get married that have children out of wedlock.  They have baby mommas and children that they never see, yet they are telling other people how to live.

Personally, I can't take anyone seriously that doesn't have their own life and household together!

Forget about all that emotional shit and look at the big picture. Presidents are actually CEOs of the US corporation. The United States as you understand it to be is in actuality a corporate entity that acts as a nation.7  Hell, I learned that in business school, it's not a conspiracy, but known fact.

Now what did Hillary promise the "black community" if she became CEO, of the USA?  Nothing directly, just more of the same.  Continuity.  She promised to stay the course with what she has been about the last 30 - 40 years.  She is big on aborting black babies and making sure that she gets government funding to do so.

Hillary's hero Margaret Sanger started Planned Parenthood to get the government to finance population control for the black community.  Sanger was a racist, outspoken eugenicist who was on record saying some horrible things about blacks.  Her words carried weight as she, and others such as Hillary who took up her mantle when she died, used government funds to bring her vision of black genocide to fruition. 2

  This is my rant on the ruling that the officer who murdered a child who had a pellet gun in cold blood would not be charged for his death.  Most of it was taken from my Facebook posts on an article complaining about how Lebron James did not speak up on this topic.  Read all the way through to the end to get a full scope on this situation.

This was a lynching, plain and simple.  It was terrible, but these things will continue and only get worse if we African Americans don't step up and change our reality.  Nobody is going to help us.  Black Lives obviously Don't Matter to the establishment or anyone else.  They don't even matter to the black community enough for us to put aside our differences and use our financial weight to change things for the better.

That is a horrible situation but the 1st thing that came to my mind was why, in the current state of affairs that we live in, would black parents allow their child to be outside by himself with a bb gun? We know that the police and nuts like George Zimmerman are lynching us. It shouldn't be like that but it is. No father around, that is too bad. The mother cannot criticize another man for a situation that she allowed her own child to be placed in.

I think black people try to put pressure on celebrities to take the pressure off of themselves to actually do something about the situation we are collectively in. Granted the athletes do have power & influence, but that is shameful to look to anyone outside of your own household to speak up for or do anything else for your own family. With that said, its a huge slap in the face that the officer is not even behind bars for murder.

This doesn't let the cop off the hook but Tamir Rice's mom dropped the ball and had him growing up in a fucked up situation.  She had several children with different baby daddies and Tamir's father apparently was not in the boy's life.  Basically, they weren't model parents and that is not the proper situation to prepare a Black child for growing up in an increasingly hostile environment in America.  It's not their fault that the cop was a racist bastard and a criminal, but it's not cool for Tamir's mother to try to shift the blame to Lebron James for not speaking out on the death of her son.  She should have known how racist this society is and that it is dangerous in this climate for a Black child to walk around with a pellet gun by himself.

Nobody is ready for that discussion. Point the fingers in every direction but at yourself for problems in your own household. That's like trying to shave a mirror instead of your own face.

Are we really surprised by this horrible murder?  In America, the first "Police/Sheriff” squad was founded after slavery ended in the South.  The police, were not about equal protection of the people then or now.  For the most part, sheriff became the new title for what previously was known as the overseer. The police were about keeping Blacks oppressed and whites safe. The slavecatchers became police officers with a task to keep Blacks in their place.  That place being at the bottom of the social structure of this great nation.

I've seen pictures of Will Smith's son wearing a dress before, but now, he has officially been made the FACE of Versace's women's clothing line.  I don't know if this has ever been done before in the fashion world, but to me this seems like a joke, and slight on black people.  Why do we always willingly become the butt of these jokes meant to make us appear to be buffoons to the rest of the world?

Underground City Discovered In The Grand Canyon

If only the world’s buried cities would rise up someday…but they won’t. They are almost impossible to find but stories about rediscovered cities once inhabited by a race of giants will always fascinate us.

Amazing discoveries require great efforts or an even greater amount of luck. If we’re to trust early 20th century journalism, we learn that serendipity led to the doorstep of the most famous underground city of giants.

According to an article published in The Arizona Gazette on April 5, 1909, the Grand Canyon was once home to civilization that most likely consisted of individuals of cyclopean proportions. If such a civilization ever lived, surely it would have left behind some structure as a testament of its existence.

The article mentions the discovery of an enormous underground citadel by an explorer named G.E. Kinkaid, who stumbled upon it while rafting on the Colorado River. It is worth mentioning that Kinkaid was an established archaeologist and had financial backing from the Smithsonian Institute.

 

"The entrance to the city was at the end of a  tunnel that stretched for almost a mile underground.

First, I would impress that the cavern is nearly inaccessible,” Kinkaid wrote. “The entrance is 1,486 feet down the sheer canyon wall. It is located on government land and no visitor will be allowed there under penalty of trespass.”

  You know summer here is the rainy season there right? So the weather isn't as good as far as being able to do a lot and go to the beach.
  
  Barra (pronounced baha) is the best neighborhood to stay in for your first trip. It's right in the thick of everything. Definitely try acaraje, you will see people selling it on the streets, try to get it from the ladies wearing the traditional clothing b/c they will have the best ones. Pretty much as long as you stay in Barra you don't have to worry about where to hang or anything else b/c it is all going on right there or walking distance.
  
  There is this jazz concert that is real fun. They have it on Saturdays. It's called Jam no MAM. Tourists don't know about it but it is real cool to check out. There is this neighborhood called Rio Vermelho. On Friday or Saturday evenings right next to the catholic church is a house of candomble and they have this ceremony. Then a few hours later that whole spot starts popping as they have live music and just a lot going on in general.
  
  You can pretty much do whatever you want to. Just don't be stupid. Don't go down any dark alleys but other than that you don't have to dress down or any of the stuff you might hear white people say. Don't pay attention to anything you might have heard or read from white travelers.

  What you didn't like about living there? I met a dude in London from São Paulo told me not to move to Brazil. I've heard mixed thing. I know the states is the best country materialisticly. I say when it comes to capitalism it's a all you can eat buffet. I still don't like it here tho.

  Living there made me realize how good we have it here. It's nice to visit but it's not all it's cracked up to be. I hated how far back our people were there in the power structure. We have no idea how good we have it here. We are the cream of the crop and there is no other place on earth that that has black people in a better position to succeed than in the United States.
  
  The infrastructure of the country sucks, they don't build for the future only for the immediate now so things that are important like pipes, carpentry, electricity, water, and shelter are not built to last.
  
  I have children and it would not be the best option for them or me at all. The education system was not up to par. I would have had to pay a lot of money to send my children to a elite (for Brazil) private school that would have been inferior to the public schools here in America. Seriously. A lot of things that we complain about here are way worse for most people in the world.
  
  I would just visit Brazil in the future. I'll travel all over the world and go to places like Jamaica, Egypt, Fiji, you name it. But unlike many people that go on vacation and talk about how they want to live there I will be like hell no. In the back of my mind I would know that those places are only good in small doses. It's also the last place you want to be if shit really hit the fan b/c it's already in bad shape.

David Banner Taps African Mythology in Film ‘Walking With Gods’

The Mississippi native is now working on a new project called “Walking With Gods,”  which taps into African mythology to tell the story of a black superhero named Aket Heru.

Last year he filmed the first installment of his very own series “Walking With Gods” where he plays the role of (Aket-the kemetic/egyptian term meaning a place where the sun rises and sets) Alex a Superhero that finally realizes his true potential as a God.

“It all begins when Aket Heru, son of a celestial king is cursed. Aket’s jealous brother, Liel, becomes aware that their father will ignore natural order and install Aket as king, upon his death.

Angered, Liel invokes the evil spirit Setus. Setus fools Liel and destroys the family, but keeps Aket for entertainment. Aket’s memory is erased and he is forced to travel through the ages not knowing his true God like power.

Setus plays an evil game and Aket murders his girlfriend, Lisa. After the murder, Aket’s true power awakens. Aket must now fight to restore his full power and break the curse. In order to do so, Aket now Alex Light must believe in his godly power and embrace his true destiny.”

African-American's total GDP is $2.2 trillion, if African Americans were a country, they'd be the 10th largest country in the world. African-American's are about 15% of the US population, with a estimated population of 42 million people.

Africa's TOTAL GDP across all 54 COUNTRIES is $2.3 trillion spread across a approximate population of 900 - 1 billion people. African-American's total GDP is $2.2 trillion with a approximate population of 42 million people, which is a fraction of 3% - 4% of Africa's population.

The State of the African-American Consumer Report found that African American GDP is projected to reach $2.9 trillion, with a buying power projected to reach $1.1 trillion by 2015, The Louisiana Weekly reports.

Voodoo Sucks | Seriously It's Wack, Outdated | More Rants

Voodoo is no more enlightening than any other religion.  It sucks on so many levels.  The worst part is that black people are the main ones who shouldn't be practicing it.  I'll explain why.  One more thing before I explain.  I'm catching flack for writing this.  My wife is Puerto Rican and Haitian.  Voodoo is part of her culture and she will find this offensive.

Voodoo is a religion of conquered people.  It didn't work in the past.  The crazy thing is that some modern-day descendants of slaves actually hope to empower themselves by trading the shackles of mainstream religion for a system that failed their ancestors.

I understand why you want to escape the church and break away from Christianity.  I get it.  Voodoo is so wack though.  It has no practical use and keeps black people in a weak mind-state that helped get them into their current conditions.  Case in point.  A few years ago, this voodoo priest dude got upset at me over some petty argument and threatened to send the Orishas (voodoo gods) after me.  I laughed at his ass, told him he was a joke, and to do his worst.

Its now 7 years later and they didn't get me.  This is sad people.  This is an example of the mindset that got African people conquered.  On one hand this voodoo guy was acting like an emotional female but that's a whole other story.  The main point is the reliance on something outside of you that has no real power.  Voodoo only works because you believe and/or fear it.  That is called a placebo effect.

I don't believe in that bullshit and neither did the European who kicked the African's black ass.  The white man was like, "Oh you're going to put a curse on me if I rape your village?  Well we have guns and we'll just place trade embargoes on your nation that will curse you for generations to come.  For real."  Whose voodoo was more powerful?  Not that bullshit, place a coconut on your alter, slaughter a chicken crap.

None of the gods from the voudun pantheon seemed to care enough to assist their practitioners while they were being enslaved, raped, families broken up, getting their asses whipped for learning how to read, and hung from trees.  They didn't offer any help while the land and resources were stolen from their loyal followers.

I mean they borrowed a page from MLK and straight turned the other cheek while all this shit was going on.  In the meantime followers had to make sacrifices, kill goats, chickens, sometimes people, do all types of weird shit, sing, dance, have all these elaborate ceremonies, and leave food out to appease these dudes (ahem, gods).
